The 2nd International Summer Course Program Participants Learn About Urban Farming

Again, Jakarta Government's urban farming program gets the world attention.

We hope participants can gain knowledge and experience in utilizing unused land and space for greening through this visit

This time, 23 participants from The 2nd International Summer Course Program 2018 are interested to learn about urban farming in several locations of Jakarta.

Tens Foreign Youths Learn About Urban Farming in Jakarta

"Today, this group is scheduled to visit Gang Hijau (green alley) Jalih, Gang Hijau Asmat, and Manunggal Pesanggrahan RPTRA in South Jakarta," stated Darjamuni, Head of Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept., Monday (9/3).

He explained, The 2nd International Summer Course Program 2018 is a program held by Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Faculty of Human Ecology of Bogor Agriculture University (IPB). This program is held from August 26 to September 4.

Participants who joined in this activity are lecturers and students from University Putera Malaysia (UPM), Seoul National University Korea (SNUK), IPB and Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ).

 

"We hope participants can gain knowledge and experience in utilizing unused land and space for greening through this visit," he conveyed.

Meanwhile, Head Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Faculty of Human Ecology of Bogor Agriculture University (IPB), Tin Herawati admitted that her side is very impressed with Jakarta Government's full support in managing urban farming in capital city.

"It can be seen from the succession of mutual cooperation between Jakarta people in implementing urban farming programs," she stated.
